Description
Introduced in 1946, the rugged Dodge Power Wagon was initially based on automaker's 3/4-ton WC series military trucks from World War II. The W300 one-ton model was released in 1958.
The four-wheel-drive 1969 W300 Power Wagon was equipped with a 318 cubic-inch V8 engine, which produced approximately 210 horsepower and 285 lb-ft of torque. The engine was paired with a four-speed manual transmission and four-speed transfer case, and the truck also had a heavy-duty suspension system that allowed for robust off-road capabilities. Externally, the W300 Power Wagon was characterized by its utilitarian design, with steel bumpers, cab roof lights, dual mirrors, and often a heavy-duty winch.
This 1969 Dodge W300 Power Wagon, showing 17,878 original miles, remained with its original owner — the Newport Township Fire Department in Lake County, Illinois — for more than five decades until April 2021. It was most recently used as a brush truck, so the tailgate was removed to make equipment loading easier; the tailgate is included in the sale.
