Following its entry into serial production after World War II, it achieved the status of the best-selling car based on a single platform, with 21.5 million units sold. This compact and practical vehicle exemplified innovation and design, characterized by its distinctive rounded shape, which was both aerodynamic and visually striking. Its rear-wheel drive and compact dimensions offered significant advantages over traditionally designed cars of its time, while the air-cooled engine provided low maintenance and ease of repair, solidifying the Beetle’s reputation for reliability and user-friendliness.

Ownership History 

This 1968 Volkswagen Beetle is reported to have been originally owned in Newton, Massachusetts, as noted in in the original maintenance booklet. From there the car is said to have been sold by Noyes Volkswagen of Keene, New Hampshire, prior to being purchased by the current owner from Waterbury Center, Vermont in September 2018 with 89,079 miles that are believed to be original.
