Description

The 1967 Dodge Dart line ranged from affordable family sedans to all-out drag racing machines, all wearing new squared-off styling resembling the more expensive Charger. Apart from the station wagons which were dropped, the model lineup remained the same – consisting of the entry-level 170, the mid-range 270, and top-of-the-line Dart GT in two-door hardtop and convertible body styles.  The GT was equipped as standard with bucket seats, a padded dash, and full wheel covers before buyers made their selections from the plethora of performance and convenience options. The ever-growing V8 engine choices were joined by the 340 or optional 380-powered GTS in late 1967, limited-production Hurst-built 426 Hemi V8s in 1968, and the 1969-only 440 big-block V8. The extreme popularity and rarity of these engines has meant that many Darts have been resto-modded with larger engines and other performance modifications. This particular 1968 Dodge Dart GT has been fitted with a 408 cu-in V8 among several other modifications under previous ownership, offering the opportunity to enjoy this fine example of 1960s Detroit muscle on a cruise or at the drag strip.
