Description
OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE
The American Motors Corporation AMX is one of the most distinctive American performance cars of the late 1960s– an unapologetically sporty, two‑seat muscle machine built to challenge the era’s best. Lightweight, compact, and available with AMC’s high‑output V8, the AMX earned immediate credibility on the street and track while carving out a loyal enthusiast following that persists today, with factory “Go‑Package” equipped examples remaining especially desirable.
This 1968 AMX is finished in Rally Green Metallic paint with white stripes. It's powered by a 390ci V8 paired with a four‑speed manual transmission, and it is equipped with the factory Go‑Package, which included styling, performance, and handling upgrades.
The car was reportedly parked for around 40 years after sustaining damage to its left front fender, which was replaced and painted in 2012. Service said to have been performed in 2017 prior to the seller's acquisition included work on the car's fuel system, its brakes, its exhaust, and its cooling system.
This 1968 AMC AMX is now offered with service and parts receipts, uninstalled spare parts, an owner's manual, and a clean Washington State title in the seller’s name.

Ownership History
From the seller: “This 1968 AMX is an original Oregon car believed to have been stored for over 40 years after sustaining damage to the left front fender, which was replaced long ago. The car was purchased in 2017 by a previous owner, whose technician went through it extensively to ensure roadworthiness. The interior is amazingly well-preserved and remains entirely original, aside from the seat pads, which were replaced in 2017.
The car was sold to the current owner’s uncle in 2019, who transferred it to the current owner in 2023 due to health issues. This AMX has been garaged since it was purchased in 2019 and is believed to have been stored since at least the beginning of the mechanical upgrade campaign in 2017. The current owner has recently experienced health issues and wishes to find a quality home and owner for this incredible time machine!”
