OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE
The 1967 Mercury Cyclone GT marked a high-performance evolution of Mercury’s mid-size muscle car. Its aggressive design included a bold front end wearing a Twin Scoop GT hood, a full-length grille, and stacked headlights. Following the sleek fastback roofline to the rear led to a uniquely styled back end, with angular taillights and lots of chrome.
To back up its muscle car looks, the Cyclone GT came standard with a 390 cu-in Marauder V8, which made 320 horses with help from a four-barrel carb and dual exhaust. That engine was paired with either a three- or four-speed manual, or a three-speed automatic. A performance gear set, front disc brakes under special wheels and tires, a heavy-duty suspension, and special striping and ornamentation rounded out the GT Performance Group option.
While the Cyclone GT was a powerful and distinctive addition to Mercury’s performance portfolio, only 3,419 were sold in 1967, making it a rare find today. And this example has a completely rebuilt drivetrain, and many other rebuilt or restored components, making it a fun, fast hot rod — just add bodywork and paint.

Ownership History
The consignor states, “I am retired, have a meticulous attention to period-correct detail, and have every receipt totaling over 35k for this build. Built for cruising and car shows, never been raced. I built this car during Covid lockdown, and took my time to do everything right the first time.”
“This Cyclone GT was used to go to Washinton State University for several years, then parked under an awning in 1974. During that time the front was hit and repaired with a 1966 core support. (I have a new core support).”
“It was parked with just over 86,000 miles. I had the gauge cluster restored and the odometer set back to 0 miles, and it’s currently at 571 miles. The engine hour meter gauge under hood shows 33.4 hours. Seafoam fuel stabilizer always used during storage.”
