Description
Ford’s 1967 Mustang brochure asked, “How do you add excitement to an American original — an original which is already the most exciting, most acclaimed new car in history?” Then Ford answered it with the new and improved ’67 model. The Mustang received its first major redesign that year with a wider, more aggressive front grille and concave taillights. The biggest change was a stretch in length and width, mostly to accommodate the new 390 cubic-inch V8 option, a much larger engine both physically and by displacement.
This 1967 Ford Mustang left the factory in San Jose, California, with Diamond Blue paint over Ivy Gold interior and a basic six-cylinder engine with three-speed manual gearbox. It has changed almost completely since, thanks to a full restoration over a decade ago that included a professional repaint in red, new red and white interior, and a swap of the original engine and transmission to a 289 cubic-inch, four-barrel small-block V8 and T5 five-speed manual.
