Description
As the first GTO to become its own model line rather than an option package, the 1966 model showcased Pontiac’s commitment to its performance sub-brand. The redesigned-for-'66 body featured a sleek "Coke-bottle" profile, recessed grille, and louvered tail lamps, giving it a more aggressive stance.
Refurbishment work reportedly completed in 2019 included refinishing this 1966 GTO in its current Tornado Red paint and fitment of a supercharged 6.0L LS V8 that powers a Ford 9" limited-slip rear end via a 4L80E four-speed automatic transmission. Four-wheel disc brakes provide stopping power for the Foose wheels, and handling is controlled by RideTech coilover springs.
Interior appointments include black and white vinyl bucket seating, a custom steering wheel, aftermarket audio system, Dakota Digital gauges, and air conditioning by Vintage Air.
This 1966 Pontiac GTO is now offered with spare parts and a clean Colorado title in the seller’s name.
