Description

The 1966 Pontiac GTO marked a pivotal moment in muscle car history—it was the first year the GTO stood as its own model, no longer just an option package on the Tempest LeMans. With its distinctive Coke-bottle styling, stacked headlights, and wide stance, it captured the essence of mid-60s American performance. As Car Life magazine put it in 1966, “GTO continues to be a pace-setter in the Supercar crowd,” but the GTO wasn’t just fast, it was stylish, confident, and unmistakably Pontiac.

This particular GTO Convertible, finished in Cameo Ivory with Flamenco Red pinstriping is paired with a Metallic Red interior, rare red wheel well liners, and BF Goodrich redline tires—creating a striking and cohesive visual statement. Under the hood, a 389 cubic-inch V8 with a single four-barrel carburetor delivers power through a two-speed automatic transmission and a 3.23 limited-slip rear axle. Power steering and brakes enhance drivability add comfort while aftermarket Hurst wheels add a tasteful, period-inspired custom touch. The car has undergone a full body-off refurbishment and presents as an iconic cruiser with both show and go.
