Description
In 1964, Ford introduced the revolutionary Mustang at the World's Fair in New York, quickly becoming an instant hit among all car enthusiasts. Sales were brisk, and amazingly, by August of that year, Ford had sold over 120,000 of their pony car. The Mustang was available in three body styles: a two-door Hardtop, a Convertible, and a Fastback 2+2 introduced in September. By 1966, the car came equipped with a standard frisky 120 horsepower 200 cu-in straight-six engine or a range lively of V8s. Ford's 1966 brochure boasted a long list of options, saying "more than 70 of them are here for '66," not including the 21 colors available, allowing customers to customize their car to their liking.
