The 1966 Ford F-100 marked the final year of an F-Series model that debuted in 1961. The ’66 F-100 was available in multiple configurations, including Styleside and Flareside beds. Standard cab, more luxurious Custom Cab, and Ranger Cab versions were offered,  and optional features like factory-installed air conditioning and AM radio reflected a shift toward more comfort-oriented pickups.

The F-100 was built on a durable ladder-type frame with heavy-gauge steel, and featured Ford’s Twin-I-Beam front suspension which improved ride comfort and handling. A full range of engines were offered, including 240- and 300-cubic inch inline-sixes and the powerful 352 cubic-inch V8. Those powerplants were paired with either a three-speed manual or an optional automatic transmission.

The 1966 F-100 offered a blend of rugged utility and improved drivability, making it a popular choice among both commercial users and private owners. And today it remains a sought-after classic among vintage truck enthusiasts.
