Description
The second-generation Corvette was a masterpiece of design and engineering. Introduced in 1963, the C2 immediately turned heads with its low, wide stance, elongated nose, and powerful fenders. The Coupe styling was positively sensual, with a gracefully designed rear end featuring a wide back window and V-shaped tail design.
Beneath that striking exterior, Zora Arkus-Duntov’s chassis delivered both rigidity and a low center of gravity. Paired with an all-new independent rear suspension featuring transverse leaf springs, a capable front suspension, and strong brakes, the C2 offered impressive handling and braking. And inside the cabin, the driver-focused cockpit combined comfort, clear instrumentation, and effortless style.
In 1966, buyers could choose from four impressive V8s — but none were as powerful as the modern, fuel-injected LS7 between the fenders of this 1966 Corvette Coupe. The LS7 and its four-speed automatic transmission were installed as a GM Performance Parts Connect & Cruise package, and utilize a central throttle body and a regular distributor to resemble an old-school 427. That drivetrain rides on a high-end Art Morrison chassis wearing a fully independent performance suspension and Wilwood four-wheel power disc brakes.
Its curvaceous body has been refinished in Marina Blue, set off by 18" knockoff-style wheels wearing performance tires and factory brightwork. Inside, the black interior wears custom leather upholstery with matching door panels and headliner, aftermarket gauges in the factory cluster, and a tilt column featuring power steering and a custom steering wheel.
This LS7-powered 1966 Chevrolet Corvette Coupe restomod is now offered by the selling dealer with a clean Ohio title.
