Description

OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE

Think of it as plus-sized performance. All new for 1965, the Fury was Plymouth’s mainstay full-sized sedan. Riding on a 119 inch wheelbase, it was the largest Plymouth offered to that point, available in four trim levels, from the taxicab Fury I on up to the Fury III with more luxury options and coupe and convertible bodies. Then there was the Sport Fury, only available as a hardtop coupe or a convertible. Forget the puny engines of the other versions, most Sport Fury came with the 383 cu-in “Commando” V8, though the 426 Max Wedge was an option. Just how quick was a Sport Fury? It was chosen as the Official Pace Car of the 1965 Indianapolis 500, which required bringing the racers to the green flag at 120 mph or more.

Finished in Medium Red paint this 1965 Sport Fury Hardtop Coupe is mostly original with an excellent Red vinyl interior and numbers matching engine and transmission. Powered by the 383 cu-in Commando V8 with four-barrel carburetor generating 330 horsepower, this 1965 Sport Fury still sets the pace.
