Description
Introduced for the 1964½ model year, the first‑generation Ford Mustang quickly became an American icon, blending sporty styling with approachable performance and everyday usability. By 1965, the Mustang had firmly established itself as a sales phenomenon, with refinements to trim, equipment, and drivability that further broadened its appeal. Convertible examples remain highly desirable for their classic open‑top motoring experience and timeless design.
This 1965 Ford Mustang Convertible is finished in its factory‑correct Caspian Blue (Color Code H) with a white manual convertible soft top over a blue vinyl standard interior (Trim Code 22). Power is provided by an A‑code 289ci V8, which is now equipped with a Holley carburetor and Pertronix electronic ignition.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a C4 Cruise‑O‑Matic 3‑speed automatic transmission and a 3.00:1 conventional rear axle. The car rides on 15″ steel wheels, features power-assisted steering, and has been updated with a RetroSound Bluetooth‑capable head unit.
This 1965 Ford Mustang Convertible is now offered with a shop manual, a top boot, and a clean South Carolina title in the seller’s name.

Additional Information
From the seller: “As you can see from some of the photos, this is not a restored car, it is a highly original Southern, rust free, exceptionally loved and maintained car with one re-paint in its original Caspian Blue metallic color. I don’t have any service records as I do all my own work having been an AACA Member since the ‘80s and have owned and maintained over a dozen antique cars. Included with the vehicle is the previous owner’s logbook, documenting all maintenance from December 12, 1978, to the present."
