Description
Ford General Manager Lee Iacocca named the automaker's sporty two-door “Mustang” because the name “had the excitement of wide-open spaces.” The car shattered sales expectations with its blend of performance, style, and affordability and became an instant hit, capturing the hearts of a new generation of drivers.
Assembled in San Jose, California, this 1965 Mustang coupe left the factory finished in Honey Gold paint paired with an Ivy Gold and White vinyl interior featuring bucket seats, center console, luxury accents. The car is powered by a 289ci V8 paired with a three-speed automatic transmission. Said to have remained with the original owner’s family until 2024, this ‘65 is presented as a largely original example refinished in 1994 and most recently serviced in 2024.
Factory equipment includes a three-speed automatic transmission, four-wheel drum brakes, power steering, and 14” styled steel wheels. The vehicle’s ignition system has been upgraded with a Pertronix ignitor and aftermarket coil, and suspension braces have been added both front and rear.
This 1965 Ford Mustang is now offered with spare parts, a pair of California black plates, owner’s manuals, service records, and a clean New York title in the seller’s name.
