Description

Conceived by young and ambitious Ford general manager Lee Iacocca, the 1965 Ford Mustang was sporty, stylish, affordable — and so popular that Ford could barely keep pace with demand.

Built on humble Falcon underpinnings, the Mustang paired compact dimensions with long‑hood, short‑deck proportions. Buyers had a choice of coupe, convertible, and fastback body styles, along with a range of inline-six and V8 engines, making the Mustang endlessly customizable. The formula struck a nerve, as more than a million were sold in its first 18 months, and the “pony car” was born.

Assembled in Dearborn, Michigan, and initially delivered to the Southeastern U.S., this ’65 Mustang was built with an inline-six engine and three-speed manual, but it has been modified with a 302ci V8 mated to a five-speed manual transmission.

Additional modifications include a Duraspark ignition with Select starter solenoid, Ford Motorsport valve covers and air cleaner cover, dual exhaust, front disc brakes with an aftermarket manual master cylinder, 15” alloy wheels, and aftermarket gauges (including a digital odometer).

The car currently wears blue metallic paint with a black vinyl roof over a black vinyl interior.

This 1965 Ford Mustang Coupe is now offered with a shop manual, electrical and chassis manuals, and a clean Ohio title in the seller’s name.
