Description

OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE

Introduced for the 1963 model year, the second‑generation Corvette Stingray marked a dramatic leap forward in both performance and design, cementing Chevrolet’s reputation as a serious sports car manufacturer. By 1965, refinements such as standard four‑wheel disc brakes and improved powertrain options made the C2 one of the most capable sports cars of the era. High‑output small‑block examples equipped with four‑speed manual transmissions remain especially desirable among enthusiasts.

Refurbished prior to the seller's acquisition, this '65 C2 Convertible is powered by a period-correct small block Chevrolet V8 fitted with a Holley four-barrel carburetor and paired with a four‑speed manual transmission. Refinished in Rally Red with a black hood stripe, the car is equipped with both a black convertible soft top and a removable color-matched hardtop, along with optional side exit exhaust pipes and knockoff wheels. Inside, reupholstered gray bucket seats are separated by a console housing an AM/FM radio.

This 1965 Chevrolet Corvette is now offered at no reserve with a removable hardtop and a clean Indiana title in the seller’s name.

Additional Information

From the seller: “Believed to be a factory-born 350 horsepower L79 car, based on the tachometer’s 6,000 RPM redline and how the vehicle was represented to me at the time of purchase. It is also believed to be a factory side-pipe car, per statements from a prior owner who reportedly had the car inspected by a Corvette expert.

The car is equipped with a period-correct GM casting number 3956618 engine block, featuring a 1969 casting date; Corvette reference materials indicate this casting number was used in 1969 Corvettes rated at 350 horsepower. The Muncie transmission retains a matching VIN stamp. The body was assembled by GM Chevrolet’s St. Louis, Missouri plant on November 9, 1965, as indicated by Trim Tag code K09. The transmission was assembled on June 4, 1965, per the transmission date code stamping (see photos).”
