Description
The 1965 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu, the second-year entry in Chevy’s mid-size “A‑Body” lineup, debuted with refined styling — featuring a sharper grille, squared-off taillights, and a subtly pointed front end — while retaining its 115‑inch wheelbase from 1964.
Offered across four body styles (sport coupe, convertible, four-door sedan, and two-seat wagon), the Malibu sat above the basic Chevelle 300 and 300 Deluxe trim, showcasing patterned cloth and vinyl upholstery, plush carpeting, upgraded steering wheel, and exterior bright moldings. Engine choices ranged from inline-six to small-block V8s, with power outputs from 120 hp to 300 hp. Total Chevelle production reached roughly 344,100 units in 1965, and the Malibu solidified its reputation by bridging everyday comfort and authentic muscle car performance.
Kept within the same North Carolina-based family from new, this 1965 Chevelle Malibu Sport Coupe was purchased at the dealership in March 1965, and the seller says it remains in largely factory condition. Power comes from a factory 327ci V8 paired with a factory four-speed manual transmission. The body was reportedly stripped and refinished in its original shade of Tahitian Turquoise in 2018, and in 2021 the engine was upgraded with a chrome dress kit (including valve covers and air cleaner), and the car received full-length exhaust headers and a Flowmaster X-pipe exhaust.
The one-family-owned Malibu Sport Coupe is now offered with its factory order form and a clean North Carolina title in the seller’s name.
