Description
The Austin-Healey 3000 Mk III (BJ8) was the final and most refined version of the iconic British sports car series produced by the British Motor Corporation. Introduced in 1959, the 3000 evolved through three major iterations, with the Mk III offering the most comfort and performance.
It featured a 2.9-liter inline six-cylinder engine, which was factory rated at 150 horsepower, paired with a four-speed manual transmission and optional overdrive, allowing for smoother highway cruising.
By 1964, the Austin-Healey 3000 had become a favorite among American buyers, admired for its elegant styling and spirited driving experience.
Production of the series would end in 1967 due to tightening safety and emissions regulations, marking the end of an era. Today, these models are highly sought after by collectors and celebrated for their blend of classic design, robust performance, and enduring charm.
This ‘64 "Big Healey” is finished in black and received fresh red leather upholstery and carpeting under current ownership along with a replacement convertible top, tonneau cover, and chrome knock-off wire wheels. Its four-speed manual transmission features overdrive.
This 1964 Austin-Healey 3000 Mk III BJ8 is now offered with a clean Oregon title in the seller’s name.
