Description

The 1963 International Harvester Scout 80 was part of the original Scout lineup introduced in 1960, designed as a rugged, compact 4x4 utility vehicle to compete with the Jeep CJ series. Built for simplicity and durability, the Scout 80 featured a removable hardtop, fold-down windshield, and minimalistic interior, making it a favorite among off-road enthusiasts and rural users alike.

This particular Scout 80 has undergone extensive refurbishment and modification, transforming it into a unique street-focused build. Originally a four-wheel-drive model, it was converted to rear-wheel drive in 2013 with the installation of a custom-built Ford 302 cu-in V8 engine (bored out to 312 cu-in), paired with a Ford C6 three-speed automatic transmission and a narrowed 8.8″ Mustang rear end. The truck was relocated from California to Washington in 2015 and placed into garage storage in 2018. The current owner recommissioned the vehicle in 2025, performing key mechanical updates including a fueling system overhaul, carburetor rebuild, and battery replacement.

Finished in Light Yellow with a white cab top, this Scout blends vintage charm with hot rod attitude, featuring lowered suspension, four-wheel disc brakes, and a custom interior. It’s a standout example of early SUV heritage reimagined for modern roads.

Ownership History

The consignor states, “This Scout 80 was transformed into a street machine in 2013 with a full drivetrain swap and cosmetic refresh. It spent several years in California before moving to Washington in 2015, where it was stored indoors starting in 2018. I acquired it in 2025 and recommissioned it with fresh mechanical work including a rebuilt carburetor, flushed fuel system, and new battery. It’s a unique blend of vintage International styling and Ford V8 power—ready for cruise nights or weekend drives.”

This Scout is offered with a clean Washington title in the seller's name.
