The 1963 Ford Thunderbird marked the final year of the third generation “Bullet Bird,” a model known for its sleek, jet-inspired styling and luxury-oriented features. Introduced in 1961, it was a bold departure from the previous square-bodied models, embracing a more aerodynamic, futuristic design that resonated with the space-age optimism of the early ’60s.
In 1963, Ford refined the Thunderbird’s styling with subtle updates, including a new grille pattern, revised trim, and a sculpted body line that ran along the sides. Under the hood, the standard 390 cubic-inch V8 delivered 300 horsepower and was paired with a Cruise-O-Matic automatic transmission for smooth cruising. The ’63 T-bird also showcased advanced features like power steering, power brakes, bucket seats, and the signature swing-away steering wheel to ease the driver's entry and exit.
This example is one of less than 6,000 convertibles reportedly produced in that final year. It has the highly desirable color combination of Raven Black over a Red vinyl bucket-seat interior. According to the seller, the car was recently serviced and is ready for a new owner.
