Description
OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE
In less than ten years, the C1 Corvette was forged into a true performance contender. The 1953 debut model turned heads with its sleek design, but the big news for 1955 was the introduction of the groundbreaking small-block V8.
The newly muscular Corvette debuted a seductive new body in 1956, the 283-cubic-inch engine delivered a remarkable one horsepower per cubic inch in 1957, and the 1958 model added dual headlights and frame-mounted bumpers.
By 1961, the Corvette was simultaneously looking ahead while still honoring its roots. Its redesigned front end featured a cleaner grille, while the rear introduced recessed quad taillights — a preview of the iconic C2 styling that would influence generations of Corvettes to come.
This particular 1961 Corvette blends classic design with cutting-edge engineering. Its beautifully refinished gray body rides on a sturdy aftermarket chassis with modern suspension geometry, a fuel-injected LS3 V8 delivers power to an independent rear suspension, and the stunning custom interior wears ox blood leather over gray carpet. It’s timeless style wrapped in modern performance and drivability.
