Description
As the first generation of the Chevrolet Corvette approached its final lap, the 1961 model year was given a significant facelift. However, you might not notice the changes until one passes you by. The contemporary design featured a "duck tail" rear end, replacing the curvaceous rear end in place since 1953. The new tail of the 1961 Corvette also established the tradition of four taillights. Up front, the changes were far more subtle, with a billet-looking grille and color-matched headlight banks that replaced the chrome headlight trim from past years. As presented today, this 1961 Corvette offers compelling performance from its 327 cu-in V8 engine topped with a four-barrel carburetor provides power to a four-speed Saginaw manual transmission handling shifting duties. This Corvette has been upgraded with driver comfort in mind, featuring air conditioning, power steering, and front disc brakes. Inside you will find an interior adorned with black bucket seats and a black dashboard with red carpet offering a stunning contrast. This all creates an iconic Corvette with modern amenities that make the driving experience ever more pleasurable.
