Description
The 1960 Ford Galaxie Starliner ushered in a new era of performance‑minded styling for Ford. Positioned within the full‑size lineup, the Starliner was designed as a sleek, aerodynamic counterpart to the more traditional Galaxie models. Its signature feature was the dramatic bubble‑top roof, a thin‑pillar, wide‑glass canopy that offered superb visibility and gave the car a light, futuristic presence. Paired with a long, flowing fastback roofline, the Starliner conveyed motion and speed even at rest.
Engine choices ranged from the reliable 292‑cubic-inch Y‑block V8 to several FE‑series powerplants, including the 352ci engine seen here. The Starliner’s clean shape and strong engines made it a natural fit for stock‑car racing, where its stability on high‑speed tracks proved advantageous. Curtis Turner notably piloted a 1960 Starliner for the Holman‑Moody team, winning the Daytona 500 that year.
This Raven Black Starliner highlights the model’s blend of early‑1960s elegance and motorsport influence. Pulled from a Roswell, New Mexico, junkyard in 2010, it received a thorough refurbishment completed in 2019. Mild custom touches include a Canadian Meteor Montcalm grille, Edsel bumpers, a lowered stance, and 1962 Ford Galaxie vinyl interior. Its rebuilt 352ci V8 completes the package.
This 1960 Ford Galaxie Starliner is now offered with a clean Ohio title in the seller’s name.

Additional Notes
The seller states, “The car's original odometer read approximately 72,000 miles. Since replacement, I have driven approximately 10k miles. The car was lowered three inches and de-chromed. The interior features a Meteor dashboard and steering wheel and a new 1962 Ford Galaxie vinyl interior. The body and frame were dipped in acid (at Redi-Strip in Roselle, Illinois) to remove all rust. Paint work was performed at Naperville Collision. Front floors and trunk panels were replaced. All chrome was re-chromed by Finishing Touch in Chicago. The engine was completely rebuilt. Recent work included a tune-up and replaced front driver and passenger door window regulators (ACP FG-BW067). This car has absolutely no rust anywhere. It is a joy to drive and receives a lot of attention at shows and the gas pumps.”
