“The Turbine Drive Buick Electra…the finest Buick of all.” The flagship Electra 225 exuded elegance: measuring an impressive 226 inches in length, the 4-Door Hardtop featured sweeping sculpted sides with VentiPorts, bold chrome accents, a wide grille, quad headlights and wraparound taillights, and dramatic tailfins with the upper fin line sweeping forward all the way to the windshield.
Under the hood, the Electra packed serious power — a 401ci “Wildcat 445” V8 delivering 325 horsepower and a robust 445 lb-ft of torque, all channeled through Buick’s new “Turbine Drive” variable-pitch automatic transmission.
That silky smooth powertrain was enjoyed in a luxurious cabin with comfortable Foamtex cushions, Easy Power Steering and power brakes, a glare-free Mirromagic instrument panel, and convenience features like dual-speed wipers and backup lights. With mid-century styling and luxury features, it’s no wonder Buick referred to this masterpiece as “A truly superb automobile.”
According to the selling dealer, “this 1960 Buick Electra 225 4-Door Hardtop wears eye-catching, partially original paint, features a host of power and convenience accessories, and has only traveled an incredible 3,801 miles since new!”

This 1960 Buick Electra 225 4-Door Hardtop is offered from The Raleigh Classic Colleciton with a clean Colorado title. According to the selling dealer, “it was purchased new from the Strang Garage Company in Colorado Springs, Colorado by Mr. Anson Ryder on October 5th, 1960. Mr. Ryder was the sole owner of the vehicle until 1996 when Elmer High purchased it from the Ryder estate. Since the early-mid 2000s the car has resided in two prominent private East Coast collections, and this is the first time the car will be made available to the general public at auction.”
