Description
OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE
By the early 1960s, Alfa Romeo had firmly established itself as a purveyor of stylish, high-performance sports cars that blended Italian flair with engineering sophistication. The 101 series Giulietta Spider, designed by Pinin Farina and introduced in the mid-1950s, was a standout in this lineage. With its compact proportions, lively twin-cam engine, and elegant open-top design, the Spider offered a spirited driving experience that resonated with enthusiasts.
This 1960 Alfa Romeo Giulietta Spider is a charming example of mid-century Italian design, benefiting from a cosmetic and mechanical refurbishment. According to the Alfa Romeo Certificato Di Origine certificate, AR167018 was produced on September 19, 1960; delivered to New York with a June 9, 1961 date of sale; and not initially registered until 1962—hence the 1962 year on the title..
Finished in exceedingly rare Nero (black) with a matching soft-top, it features black vinyl upholstery with blue piping, Veglia dials, and correct two-spoke steering wheel. The 1.3-liter twin cam inline-four and five-speed manual transmission—both reportedly rebuilt—provides spirit-forward driving performance. This Spider is a stylish and usable classic ready for the next caretaker.

Ownership History
This 1960 Alfa Romeo Giulietta Spider was acquired by the seller in July 2020. It's reported the previous owner began refurbishing the aesthetic and mechanical components in 2002 and completed the overhaul around 2009. The car is now offered with a Washington title in the seller’s name.
The seller purchased new Vredestein Sprint Classic tires in March 2021 (receipt attached in photoset), which have seen less than 2,000 miles of use since installation. During their ownership, maintenance was limited to annual oil changes performed personally, along with a rebuild of the water pump and a recoring of the radiator.
The only modification made under the seller’s stewardship was the replacement of the original springs, which were deemed too soft. These were swapped for Centerline performance springs, which lowered the car slightly and, according to the seller, “totally transformed the way it drives!”
