Description

Emerging from the tragedies of the Second World War, Mercedes-Benz proved remarkably resilient, quickly resuming production with the 220 S serving as their first completely new up-market luxury sedan. The car featured innovative engineering practices employing unibody construction to yield a strong car despite the scarce steel supply. The spacious cabin allows plenty of room for six, and with a 2.2-liter straight-six-cylinder engine paired with a four-speed column shift manual, this 220 S is more than capable of highway travel. With a capacious trunk, an ideal weekend touring experience can be had with all the glamor of high-class German motoring of the late 1950s.
