Description

Introduced in 1958 as the premium trim level of Chevrolet’s Bel Air line, the Impala was a bold, one-year-only body style that set the stage for its evolution into a standalone model the following year. Distinguished by its lower roofline, elongated rear deck, and signature triple taillights, the Bel Air Impala Sport Coupe combined luxury and performance in a way that redefined Chevrolet’s design language. With its sculpted rear fenders and upscale interior, the 1958 Impala quickly became a symbol of postwar American automotive ambition.

This tastefully modified 1958 Bel Air Impala Sport Coupe blends vintage styling with modern mechanical upgrades. It’s powered by a modern GM ZZ4 350 cu-in V8 crate engine, mated to a TREMEC five-speed manual transmission for a more engaging driving experience. Additional enhancements include upgraded brakes, air conditioning, and a Continental spare tire enclosure kit. The car’s condition and upgrades reflect careful ownership with a focus on drivability.

Ownership History

The current owner purchased this 1958 Chevrolet Bel Air Impala Sport Coupe last year from a previous longtime caretaker who “owned the car on-and-off for almost 20 years.” Since taking stewardship, the seller has enhanced the vehicle by “repairing a bump in the rear driver’s side taillight section” in addition to getting the air conditioning working, installing “highway patrol” hubcaps, and replacing/repairing some brightwork.
