Description

The best just got better. Chevrolet’s 1955 models were wildly popular, and Chevy made sure the ’56 editions were even more so. Motor Life magazine said of the updated ’56 Chevys, “Forward cant of the front end has been emphasized by stretching the hood metal out another four inches. This, with angled headlight hoods and grille, give the illusion of motion.”

But there is no need for illusion with this Bel Air Two-Door Sedan built at the assembly plant in Van Nuys, California. It was professionally restored and reimagined with a high output Vortec 350 cu-in crate powerplant backed by a 700R four-speed overdrive automatic transmission. The suspension has been updated with four-wheel disc brakes, four-link rear suspension with Ford nine inch differential, and coil-overs all around. Inside, the tastefully upgraded leather interior features Cadillac bucket seats, a tilt steering column, Dakota Digital speedometer and gauges, and a custom Pioneer and Kicker 1200 watt four-speaker sound. With authentic Fifties flair and modern muscle, this reimagined 1956 Chevrolet Bel Air Two-Door Sedan is the best of both times.
