Description
“Room to haul, style to show.” The 1956 Chevrolet 150 Sedan Delivery was a utilitarian yet stylish vehicle built during a golden age of Chevrolet design. Based on the entry-level 150 series, the Sedan Delivery was essentially a two-door station wagon without rear side windows, designed for commercial use. It featured a large cargo area, making it ideal for tradespeople, small businesses, and government fleets.
Though it lacked the chrome and flair of the 210 and Bel Air, this Tri-Five shared the same sturdy chassis. It was equipped with a 235 cu-in inline six or 265 cu-in small-block V8 and proudly touted an all-new 12-volt electrical system for 1956.
Despite its practicality only 7,441 1956 Sedan Delivery models were produced, making it a rarity among Tri-Fives. And over time, enthusiasts have embraced it for its unique blend of vintage charm and functionality.
This Sedan Delivery Gasser originally came with six-cylinder power, a far cry from the modified 454 V8 installed now. It’s still roomy and can definitely haul — just not in the way Chevy meant!
