The Series Sixty-Two of Cadillac lineup had a wide range of appeal, favored by bankers and rock-and-roll stars alike as a status symbol of wealth and prestige. The Series Sixty-Two represented the top of the line for all of General Motors, and as a result, saw cutting-edge technology for the time. Features such as air conditioning, power windows, power seats, and Autotronic Eye – a proprietary General Motors system that automatically dimmed the high beams when oncoming cars were detected – added to the futurism of the Jet Age car.
For 1956, a two-door hardtop coupe version was released, called the "Eldorado Seville", and a two-door convertible named "Eldorado Biarritz". An Eldorado script appeared with fender crest on the car, which was further distinguished by twin hood ornaments. The Seville line boosted sales for Cadillac, further cementing the division’s halo car.
This is one of only 3,900 1956 Cadillac Eldorado Sevilles rep[ortedly produced. Purchased from Eierman Cadillac in Verona, PA, by Ms. Olga Fiore on April 30th, 1956, this car wears factory-correct Dutches Green and Princess Green exterior paint and retains its green and white leather interior. The odometer shows 43,692 miles, which is supported by multiple service stickers indicating mileage in the driver’s door jamb, but can’t be confirmed as original mileage.
