In 1956, the Buick Century was part of the midlevel Series 60 lineup. Distinguished by its stylish design, the Century wore an aerodynamic body with a distinctive grille, lots of exterior chrome and brightwork, and Buick’s famed ventiports in the fenders.

Under the hood, the Century was powered by a torquey 322ci V8 making 255 horsepower, and the Dynaflow automatic transmission gained a reputation for both smooth performance, and smooth operation. A sturdy X-braced frame with crossmembers and 12” drum brakes provided the stability and stopping power to handle that powerful powertrain.

Inside, the interior was a comfortable and luxurious place to travel, and featured high-quality materials, spacious seating, and a range of standard and optional amenities that sat on the cutting edge of 1950s technology.

This example is finished in two-tone light blue over dark blue, with a white top and matching upholstery. It rides on 15” wheels wearing whitewall tires, is equipped with air conditioning components, and is powered by the 322ci V8 backed by a Dynaflow transmission.
