Description
Cadillac described its 1955 lineup as “a new world’s standard in motor car beauty and luxury” and called its Series 62 Coupe de Ville “one of the most anticipated of Cadillac's annual offerings ... which so perfectly combines the comfort and safety of a closed car with all the wonderful spirit of a convertible.”
Originally introduced as trim level in the Series 62 lineup, the Coupe de Ville quickly evolved into a symbol of prestige and sophistication. The ’55 Coupe de Ville pillarless hardtop featured a powerful 331 cubic-inch OHV V8 engine, delivering 250 horsepower and 345 lb-ft of torque, that was paired with a four-speed Hydra-Matic automatic transmission. The exterior design was characterized by a distinctive roofline, chrome accents, gold-toned "Coupe de Ville" scripts below the rear quarter windows, and its iconic fuel filler located under hinged driver’s side taillight. The interior was equally impressive, offering luxurious upholstery, radio, clock, heater, and tinted glass.
This 1955 Cadillac Series 62 Coupe de Ville was restored prior to current ownership and received a refresh of its original Cobalt Blue paint, along with other updates.
