Description

Austin-Healey would shock the sports car world in 1953 when their two largely factory specification cars finished the 24 Hours of Le Mans 2nd and 3rd in class, and outpacing many purpose-built competitors finishing 12th and 14th overall. Following the race, customers naturally wanted to increase their car's performance to the specification of those Le Mans entrants, which resulted in the creation of factory-approved parts that could be added to any production car. These parts proved so popular that a ‘Le Mans Engine Modification Kit’ was created for later BN2 cars that were either fitted at the factory or the selling dealer. These upgrades allowed owners to experience a true “race car for the road,” and today, they have become a sought-after classic.

Highlights

  • Restored to a high standard, winning several awards, including a Second Place award from the 2015 Antique Automobile Club of America National Spring Meet in Charlotte, North Carolina
