Description

OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE

“Packed with value and ready to prove it!” Chrysler's Plymouth division focused on low-cost family transportation competing with Ford and Chevrolet, with offerings like the 1950 Plymouth Deluxe. After the sacrifices our “greatest generation” made during the Great Depression and World War II, they wanted new cars to replace their aged vehicles, and the sturdy 1950 Plymouths filled the bill.

As in 1949, three distinct series were built, the short wheelbase P19 cars, and the longer wheelbase P20 Plymouths in Deluxe and Super Deluxe trims. Although the two were siblings, a host of changes had taken place so that only the doors and deck lid were bolt-for-bolt interchanges. The 1950 Plymouth Deluxe continued a conservative style with a simple, yet elegant grille, rounded fenders, and ample chrome trim. The interior was designed with practicality in mind, offering a straightforward dashboard layout and durable materials.

The 1950 models featured a 217.8 cubic-inch flathead inline-six engine producing around 97 horsepower and known for its durability and ease of maintenance. The P20 cars had a longer 118.5 inch wheelbase, providing a spacious interior that could comfortably seat six passengers and providing the “Air Pillow Ride” Americans wanted.
