Description

OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE

Packard’s first post-war car didn’t appear until 1948, and like many of its competitors, relied on the underpinnings of a pre-war model with a re-bodied exterior. Sitting atop the model range was the Custom Eight wearing inverted bathtub-like styling it shared with the entry-level Eight and mid-tier Super Eight – all of which were available in Standard or Deluxe trim and in a range of body styles. Powering the Super Eight was a 327 cu-in straight-eight producing 150 horsepower paired with Packard’s in-house Ultramatic three-speed transmission from 1949 onwards. Today, Custom and Super Eight convertibles are highly sought after for their stylish silhouette lacking a steel roof, and as one of the final straight-eight-powered American automobiles ever offered.
