Utilizing Ford’s latest high-powered, 85 horsepower, flathead V-8, the 1939 Ford De Luxe Coupe was advertised as ‘A convenient, modern car… Especially desirable for business or professional use’. Offering customers a comfortable cabin along with a large luggage compartment, De Luxe variants were further equipped with many luxurious appointments such as a golden mahogany finish dashboard and cigar lighter with ashtray. The entire 1939 Ford lineup was hugely popular in its day, but by the 1950s these were just inexpensive used cars—perfect for the growing hot rod movement.

This ’39 De Luxe Coupe has been built with a 383 cubic-inch V8 with dual four-barrel Edelbrock carburetors, giving drivers plenty of muscle for the road. Inside and out, this car has been customized to be enjoyed on the road with an upgraded radiator with electric fans, front disc brakes, power steering and brakes, air conditioning and custom interior. This car has been driven and enjoyed, and is ready for some more miles back on the road.
