Description
Chevrolet owned half of the truck market in the early 1930s. But due to pressure from competitors like Ford, Dodge, and International Harvester, an all-new half-ton design called the DB was penned for 1934.
The stronger frame and its wheelbase were stretched, to 164" and 112", respectively, and the engine was moved forward to create an additional half-foot of cab and cargo space. The leaf-sprung chassis was built for both a smoother ride and more ground clearance. The body was streamlined with a tall, upright grille flanked by teardrop-shaped headlights. Its rounded fenders flowed into a sculpted hood and a squared cab, and chrome accents adding elegance. With a successful refresh complete, Chevrolet made only minor changes to 1934’s EB series model the following year.
This 1934 Chevrolet Highboy Pickup was primarily refurbished by the seller aside from the Riverside Red paintwork. Its drivetrain has been upgraded with a rebuilt 327ci V8, three-speed automatic transmission, and nine-inch rear end. A Mustang II front end improves handling, braking, and steering. And it wears a custom gray interior with a tilt steering column, billet accessories, and a full suite of aftermarket gauges.

Additional Information
The seller states, “When we got the truck, it was a local Sheriff’s truck regularly used for parades and elections. I did a lot of the work myself, some of my friends helped me, and I had it professionally repainted. The pride and joy is the interior—it took us nearly a year to get done! Since 1971, it’s always been garaged. Since the restoration, it’s remained garage-kept on a lift and we’ve primarily used it for Sunday drives and car shows—we even have three trophies, but we’re keeping those!”
