Description
OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE
Built in General Motor's Tarrytown Plant, Chevrolet's 1929 lineup were known for their newly designed straight six engines. Marketed as "A Six for the Price of a Four," the introduction of the new engine, played a crucial role in the natural competition with Ford, offering double the horsepower of the models from just two years prior. This 3.0 liter inline-six sported overhead valves and became known as the "stovebolt six" single-slot screws were used to attach covers for the pushrod and overhead valves to the engine block.
The model 2AC shared its construction with many others from the General Motors family including Oakland, Oldsmobile, Buick and Cadillac. Naturally with such innovation and power the 1929 Chevrolet AC Series was a huge hit, with 1,328,605 unites sold that year.
