Description

After 18 years and more than 15,000,000 units of the iconic Model T, Ford would unveil the new Model A in 1927. The Model A was offered with a selection of body styles that would suit almost every taste and purpose, from a full-size Fordor Sedan to a sleek two-door Sports Coupe; Ford’s Model A offerings even included a taxicab, truck, and vehicles for commercial use. The model A was the first Ford to be offered with a standard set of driver controls, configured with a conventional clutch, brake, and throttle providing enthusiasts with an incredibly enjoyable and relatable driving experience. Power came from an “L-head” inline four-cylinder engine producing around 40 horsepower, more than suitable for the period.

Today, those 40 horses won’t cut it, and now this 1928 Model A Sport Coupe is powered by a ’66 Mustang 289 Cleveland V8 with an automatic transmission. It also features Mustang II front suspension, 1978 Lincoln Mark VII rear, four-wheel disc brakes, and a 3-inch chop to the canvas top, adding to the modern feel with a classic look.
