Description

As the Hot Rods of their era, Ford Model T Speedsters would emerge as a popular choice for young men of the 1930s and 40s seeking high performance on a tight budget. Beginning with a standard and practical “Tin Lizzie”, speed freaks would soon realize that by stripping down a Model T to its bare necessitates and thoughtfully upgrading the drivetrain would result in quite a quick and fun little automobile. With higher output engines and the addition of a two-speed rear end, Model T Speedsters were often capable of exceeding speeds of 60 miles per hour, paving the way for the newly emergent hot rod culture. Still enjoyed by a devoted community of Speedster enthusiasts, these examples remain highly praised due to their affordability, reliability, and ease of maintenance in addition to the added drivability from these modifications that allow Model T Speedsters to tour with modern traffic.
