Offered from the estate of Porsche Master Mechanic David Glenn, this Porsche Type 911/72 flat-six is a 2.8-liter RSR-style engine representative of the configuration developed for the 1973 911 Carrera RSR. According to information passed down through the Glenn workshop, this engine was disassembled by David for tolerance and wear inspection, found to be in usable condition, and retained as a prepared racing engine for future installation. 

While no documentation or build specifications accompany the unit, visual inspection reveals a competition-prepared assembly complete with high-butterfly mechanical fuel-injection system, dual-plug cylinder heads, 12-plug distributor, and period-correct race hardware throughout. The engine is mounted to a custom stand for display.

As presented, this is a valuable and authentic-appearing 2.8 RSR-specification engine offering insight into David Glenn’s meticulous standards and serving as an excellent foundation for display or future race preparation.

Taxes & Fees:

As a reminder, auction lots on Hagerty Marketplace carry a bidder’s premium that is 7% of the final sale price, $500 minimum. In addition, applicable Georgia sales tax (7%) will be collected on non-vehicle purchases after an auction, unless the buyer qualifies for an exemption. Buyers are responsible for all taxes, export/import duties, and compliance requirements. Valid resale or export documentation must be provided before payment to claim any exemptions.

Invoicing:

Please note that invoices will be sent by the seller’s agent to all buyers approximately Dec 12th-14th.

Shipping:

All items are FOB Hagerty Garage + Social, Savannah, Georgia, and must be removed within a reasonable time following payment. Shipping may be coordinated through Kevin Allen, American Moving & Storage (912.856.4644) at the buyer’s expense.
