Description
The 2014 press release announcing the Challenger SRT Hellcat didn’t sugarcoat it: “The new Challenger SRT Hellcat captured the title the ‘FASTEST MUSCLE CAR EVER’ with a National Hot Rod Association-certified quarter-mile elapsed time of 11.2 seconds at 125 miles per hour (mph) with stock Pirelli P275/40ZR20 P Zero tires.”
Pulling a reliable 707 horsepower out of the Hellcat’s third-generation HEMI required 91 percent new engine components, including an intercooled IHI supercharger. High-performance suspension, Brembo disc brakes, and Pirelli P Zero tires make it more than just a straight-line legend. The Hellcat even came with two keys: The black key allows “only” 500 horsepower to be generated for more docile driving, while the red key unleashes the entire 707 horses.
What does an NHRA Top Fuel driver—accustomed to blasting 330 mph in under four seconds—do when he gets his hands on a Hellcat? Burnyzz owner and John Force Racing driver Josh Hart bought this Hellcat brand-new from ‑new from Gainesville Chrysler Dodge Jeep of Gainesville, Florida, in January 2017, then transformed it into what he calls the “BMF1000.” Running in E85 tune, it produces a claimed 976 horsepower at the rear wheels. Josh has built only two of these beasts, and this Pitch Black example has just 729 miles on the odometer.
This 2017 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat “BMF1000” is now offered by the selling dealer with a clean CARFAX vehicle history report, a “BMF1000” plate signed by Josh Hart,a laminated window sticker, and a clean Florida title.
