Description

OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE

The Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland debuted in 2002 as a premium trim level, positioned above the Limited to offer a more luxurious and capable SUV experience. It was named after the historic Overland automobile brand, which was part of Willys-Overland, Jeep’s early predecessor. The Overland trim was introduced with upscale features such as real wood interior accents, leather upholstery, and Jeep’s most advanced 4WD system at the time: Quadra-Drive.

In a 2011 redesign, the fourth-generation Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland gained a more sophisticated exterior, panoramic sunroof, and premium Nappa leather, reinforcing its luxury appeal. The top-of-the-line Overland trim offered a choice between a 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 or 5.7-liter HEMI V8 engine. It featured Jeep’s new Quadra-Lift air suspension system, which allowed for adjustable ride heights up to 10.7 inches, and the Selec-Terrain system, enabling drivers to tailor traction settings.

This one-of-a-kind, fully armored 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland underwent a $170,000 transformation on behalf of a CEO who was driven daily by armed guards from Texas to his company’s headquarters in Mexico. Its original 5.7-liter Hemi V8 was replaced with a new one (at 88,000 miles) just to be sure the engine could handle the additional weight of the armor.
