Description
The second-generation 2011 CTS-V represented a turning point in American performance sedans — a moment when a Cadillac equaled and even outperformed Europe’s finest. Built on GM’s robust Sigma platform, the V had a 113-inch wheelbase and featured a Nürburgring-honed suspension setup: control arms up front, a multilink in the rear, and incredible Magnetic Ride Control shocks that delivered up to 1,000 damping adjustments per second.
Despite its 4,200-pound curb weight, the CTS-V held nearly 1g through the corners. And thanks to massive disc brakes and grippy performance tires, 70–0 mph stops happened in just 166 feet. Those big binders helped offset the V’s supercharged 6.2-liter V8, which punished the rear tires with 556 horsepower. And because those ponies were sent through either a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission, drivers had a choice on how to wield that prodigious power.
And inside, luxury awaited: supple leather buckets, black and chrome trim, and a premium surround sound system put occupants at ease after adrenaline-filled trips to redline. The 2011 CTS-V didn’t just redefine Cadillac’s performance credentials — it reimagined the brand’s identity. This six-speed 2011 CTS-V sedan wears uplevel Thunder Gray paint and is one of only 2,085 built, making it a fast, desirable, and rare performance car.
