Description
When the all-new XK launched in 2007, it started a seven-year revolution that elevated Jaguar’s grand touring machines. The XK’s innovative aluminum chassis was stiff, with a six-inch-longer wheelbase than the previous model. And its wide, sculpted aluminum body was impressively light.
And Jaguar also had an option for enthusiasts looking to hunt 911s: the XKR. It was initially launched with a 4.2-liter V8, but by 2010 the XKR was powered by a supercharged, five-liter mill making 510 horsepower. And the XKR got a more serious look, with an aggressive front bumper and rear spoiler, along with LED rear lights. Inside the plush leather cabin, the XKR wore more luxurious door trim and an upgraded steering wheel, along with all of the luxury and convenience features one might expect in a modern Jaguar.
But fancy or not, the XKR was still incredibly quick: to quote Car & Driver, “Bloody hell, it’s fast! It needed just 4.0 seconds to sprint to 60 and rushed through the quarter in 12.3 seconds at 119 mph. It’s really good away from the test track too.”
This two-owner XKR wears a stunning Claret finish, and is one of only 1,763 XKR coupes built in 2010.
