Description

The 2008 Pontiac Solstice GXP represented the high-performance pinnacle of Pontiac’s stylish two-seat roadster. Introduced in 2007 as an upgrade to the base Solstice, the GXP continued into 2008 with a focus on delivering turbocharged excitement in a compact, rear-wheel-drive package. It featured a 2.0-liter turbo Ecotec inline-four engine, producing 260 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque, making it the most powerful production four-cylinder GM had ever built at the time. 

This engine, paired with either a five-speed manual or five-speed automatic transmission, allowed the GXP to sprint from 0 to 60 mph in just over 5 seconds, rivaling more expensive sports cars. The GXP also included performance upgrades such as a sport-tuned suspension, limited-slip differential, dual exhaust, and larger brakes, distinguishing it from the base model. The 2008 model was offered exclusively in convertible form, with a manually operated cloth soft top. 

This beautifully preserved 2008 Pontiac Solstice GXP Convertible shows only 5,652 original miles. The car was originally equipped with cloth bucket seats, but the original owner replaced those with leather seats purchased from Pontiac. A MagnaFlow 2007-09 Pontiac Solstice Street Series Cat-Back Performance Exhaust System has also been added.

Ownership History

The accompanying CARFAX Vehicle History Report places this three-owner 2008 Pontiac Solstice GXP in Indiana, New Mexico, and (since June 2020) Texas. It was purchased new on 22 January 2009.
