2008 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible

Description

When released in 2005, this latest generation of Corvette would only be the sixth redesign since its launch in 1953. The C6 Corvette lineup featured a Coupe, Convertible, and the sporting Z06. The redesigned styling featured covered headlights, a first for the Corvette since 1962, and also featured a larger passenger compartment and revised suspension geometry, which came in handy when competing at Le Mans. Beginning in 2008, the engine was revised with the displacement increased from 6.0 to 6.2-liters, and now had 7.5-percent more horsepower for a total of 430. The new engine also necessitated an upgraded Tremec manual transmission to the revised TR6060. The C6 was shorter than the outgoing C5 but featured an elongated wheelbase, which served to improve the already superb handling characteristics.
