The 2007 Pontiac Solstice was a bold entry into the modern roadster market, blending classic sports car styling with contemporary performance. Introduced by General Motors under the Pontiac brand, the Solstice was first unveiled as a concept in 2002 and entered production in ’06. The 2007 model continued to build on its initial success, offering both a base model and a high-performance GXP variant. 

Designed on GM’s Kappa platform, the Solstice emphasized sharp handling, a low-slung stance, and a sleek, curvaceous body. Its convertible soft top and minimalist interior appealed to driving purists. The base model featured a 2.4-liter Ecotec inline-four engine producing 177 horsepower, while the GXP model boasted a turbocharged 2.0-liter. Both came with a five-speed manual or optional automatic transmission. 

The automotive media applauded. “With sexy styling, satisfying performance, tenacious road-holding, and a bargain price, the 2007 Pontiac Solstice is certainly tempting,” Edmunds wrote. “It is in its element when the top is down and one is unraveling a twisty road.” 

Despite its popularity, the Solstice had a short production run, ending in 2009 due to Pontiac’s discontinuation during GM’s restructuring. Still, the Solstice remains a standout for its blend of affordability and performance, and you won’t find many better than this meticulously maintained 2007 model.
