OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE
The Jaguar XKR, the supercharged variant of the XK8, is a high-performance grand tourer that debuted in 1998 as part of Jaguar’s X100 series. Designed by Geoff Lawson, the XKR combined British elegance with formidable power, marking Jaguar’s return to the performance luxury segment.
At launch, the XKR featured a 4.0-liter supercharged V8, and the car’s styling echoed the classic E-Type with long, flowing lines. In 2003, the engine was upgraded to a 4.2-liter supercharged V8, boosting output to 390 hp and 399 lb-ft of torque, and it was paired with a six-speed automatic transmission, allowing acceleration from 0 to 60 mph in about 5 seconds.
The 2005 XKR featured a mesh grille, hood louvers, and alloy wheels, and it was available in both coupe and convertible forms. Both versions came equipped with Computer Active Technology Suspension (CATS), which adjusted damping in real time for a balance of comfort and handling. Standard interior features included leather upholstery and wood trim, a premium sound system, navigation, and dual-zone climate control.
As the last model year before the transition to the aluminum-bodied X150 generation, the 2005 XKR marked the end of an era for Jaguar’s traditional styling and steel-bodied construction, making it a sought-after modern classic among enthusiasts.
