Description
“With this car, we honor every Corvette that has come before,” said Chevrolet. The 2003 Corvette marked Chevrolet’s golden jubilee, commemorating 50 years since the first Corvette debuted in 1953. And to honor this milestone, GM introduced a special 50th Anniversary Edition based on the C5 platform—in both coupe and convertible—with several exclusive features.
Visually striking in Anniversary Red Metallic with champagne-painted five-spoke wheels (17-inch front, 18-inch rear), the package also included unique crossed-flags badging and a “Shale” interior — leather seats, door pulls, armrests, embroidered headrests, and matching shale convertible top. Standard fare included fog lamps, dual-zone climate control, and sport seats, alongside Magnetic Selective Ride Control (MSRC), a new real-time damping system that adjusted suspension damping 1,000 times per second for optimized ride and handling.
The powertrain remained the formidable LS1 V8 (350 hp), paired with six-speed manual or automatic transmissions. Production totaled 11,632 Anniversary models—4,085 coupes and 7,547 convertibles—out of 35,469 C5 Corvettes built that year. The RPO 1SC package ($5,000) celebrated the legacy with tasteful elegance.
Now showing under 29,200 miles, this Anniversary Edition is equipped with a desirable 6-speed manual transmission and is said to be stock aside from a Corsa cat-back exhaust system and shorter radio antenna. The seller reportedly acquired it in 2023 and has added fewer than 700 miles since.
This limited-run C5 Vette is now offered with a CARFAX history report and a clean Louisiana title in the seller’s name.
